Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself.  I have worked and lived in the Seattle area for 20 years, having moved here in 1996.  I consider the Pacific Northwest my home, having fallen in love with its natural beauty and all the wonderful recreational activities that are available here.

I have spent my career working with adults, families and teens.  I am a licensed mental health counselor and have been licensed since July 2001.  During that time I have had the privilege to provide support, care, and nurturing to clients who were seeking change in their lives.  I have been honored to walk beside people as they courageously explore how to overcome obstacles and challenges that have interfered with them reaching their full potential.

My approach is eclectic, meaning that I use different kinds of techniques in my work.  I am influenced by psycho-dynamic theory, attachment theory, and cognitive behavior theory.  I believe that what happens to people early in their lives can have a long reaching effect. I also believe that relationships can be healing.  As humans, we are meant to connect. Part of the therapeutic process can involve helping someone learn how to connect with others, either through improved communication, social skills building, encouragement, and or enhanced self esteem.  As a result I have found therapeutic groups to have great value. In the past I have facilitated groups for people with depression, people experiencing life transitions, grief and loss groups and dialectical behavior therapy skills groups.   I also believe that the thoughts that we carry with us can also have an impact on our daily lives and affect how we feel about ourselves and others. Learning to listen to the things we tell ourselves and learning how to start telling ourselves more productive, healthy stories can have a dramatic impact.

Currently I am accepting new referrals for adults seeking individual therapy.
