Anxiety, depression and other issues can take us off guard, blindsiding us by suddenly challenging our confidence, undermining our autonomy, and bringing to mind some of our most difficult experiences. It is common to assume these problems will go away on their own or maybe if we just take a break. It is my experience that over time these problems reoccur in even more confusing and disorienting ways that might lead to crisis, leaving us feeling even more isolated and vulnerable. Sometimes the most difficult step is just asking for help, to place ourselves in a position of vulnerability.
I am happy to offer my support. I am currently a Licensed Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker (LSWAIC) with a BA in Human Services and a Master’s of Social Work. I bring a unique skillset to my practice drawing on experience offering counseling support in a variety of settings. I primarily utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy modality that includes DBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy and a variety of other elements.
My goal as your therapist is to build a mutual understanding of your experience to serve as a scaffolding for our work together. I aim to assist you in designing and implementing personalized interventions, relying on evidence based practice and research to address distress in your life, as you see it. I am able to help.
