Hello, thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I am a Mental Health Counselor Associate. I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Montana State University Billings. I have worked and lived in communities throughout the Montana and Washington regions. I have enjoyed the experience of interacting with a diversity of individuals, which has greatly contributed to my understanding of life. I have an array of experience stemming from my work in community mental Health. Here, I had the privilege of working with individuals in both a clinical and case management role. This allowed me the opportunity to gain a vast understanding of resources and programs available in our community. Throughout my employment in community mental health I had the opportunity of working with individuals coping with addiction, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and medical issues. I work primarily with adult individuals but am open to working with couples and families on an as needed basis.
I practice client directed interpersonal therapy. I draw from a variety of theories to meet the individual needs of my clients. I favor narrative and psychodynamic therapy models. I have facilitated Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups and expanded my foundation through this work. Basically, I attempt to meet clients where they are in their emotional and spiritual development and together, create an environment that encourages acceptance, growth, and change. I view each client with esteem, seeking to validate and affirm their unique gifts while offering hope and support; frequently resulting in increased personal and relational strengths.
