Hello! My name is Ingrid Cruthird, and I am a graduate student counselor/clinician studying at the Northwestern University Counseling Program. I am grateful to work with individuals, families, and communities to enhance their mental health wellness, education, and career personally and interpersonally. I am confident in my current pursuit as a candidate for my CACREP-accredited master’s program. My professional approach, responsibilities, voice, and identity are developing with the support of my supervisor, Sally King, at Cedar Valley Counseling in Lynnwood, WA.
After graduating and acquiring my Licensure Professional Counselor, I hope to continue to expand and work with families and caregivers, supporting and advocating for individuals living with medical, intellectual, physical, and sensory exceptions/ disabilities. I desire to help increase their resilience and wellness as caregivers advocating for themselves and their loved ones through medical and educational settings. As a new member of the Washington Mental Health Counselors Association (WMHC), I plan to extend my education and pursue training in Somatic Experienced or “body-centered” therapy.
