Hello there! I am grateful you took the time to read my profile. I am an intern at Cedar Valley Counseling and currently finishing up my masters in clinical mental health counseling at Antioch University. I received my B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, in cognitive psychology and my masters in special education from Azusa Pacific University. I have ample experience working with teens and in special education.

As a counselor, I enjoy working with teens and individual adults on many issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, social skills, academic and/or organizational difficulties, eating disorders, life transitions, etc. I counsel largely through the theories of CBT, person-centered and existentialism, all through the lens of the individual’s unique strengths, worldview and cultural diversity. I highly value a holistic approach when counseling clients and find creative expression, as well as mindfulness practices, being in nature, exercise, and nutrition to be pertinent to many clients’ healing journey.

Personally, I love being in nature and hiking with my dog, Spruce. I am also a proficient rock climber and guitar player, all of which I find to be important self-care practices for my own mental, physical and emotional well-being. I look forward to getting to know you. You are not alone in this journey!

Or, you may arrange to come a half hour early to fill out the paperwork when you arrive (please let me know if you need this). You can find the intake packets on the homepage of this website. Note: We do not accept Medicare.
