Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I understand that looking for a counselor may be out of your comfort zone and that it may have been a long journey for you to arrive at this page. I want to acknowledge your bravery in taking this important step and to encourage you with the thought that growth occurs at the edges of your comfort zone.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and received my Masters in Counseling Degree from Bastyr University after earning a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Western Washington University. As a counselor I have an integrated approach that is both strengths-based and person centered. I believe that all of my clients have it within themselves to heal and grow and that it is my role to walk with them through barriers and successes as we navigate the path towards their goals. I incorporate techniques and models from CBT and ACT to both view issues from a different lens and to explore ways for clients in which my client can successfully address concerns in their day to day lives.
I work with both teens and adults living with depression, anxiety, experiencing issues such as grief and loss, relationship issues, stress and life transitions. I have a particular interest in issues related to the human-animal bond including caregiving for chronic illness, anticipatory grief and loss.
